Aisha Nelson

Aisha Nelson dreams, writes, thinks and lives in Accra, Ghana, where she is also a college tutor of English Language and Literature. Her poems were shortlisted by Poetry Foundation Ghana and Erbacce Press in 2012 and 2014, respectively; Stag-nation was the winning entry in Akwantuo Writing’s inaugural Harmattan Poetry Contest. She has written, adapted and directed a number of plays, some of which were Christian plays.

Her other work has featured in weeklies, literary and academic events, on radio and other outlets including Graphic Communication’s Group’s The Mirror, Accra Citi FM’s The Weekend Globe, Accra Theatre Workshop, One Ghana One Voice, Kalahari Review, Saraba, Munyori, Prairie Schooner, Phillis Wheatley Chapter’s annual Chicken Soup publication, Writers Project of Ghana’s 2015 poetry anthology and Caine Prize’s 2015 short story anthology.
