Author for March -- Dr Mary Asabea Ashun

Writers Project of Ghana and the Goethe Institute, Accra are happy to announce the resumption of our reading series after a four-month break. For the month of March 2017, we proudly present Ghanaian writer Dr. Mary Asabea Ashun as our guest author.

Dr. Mary Ashun is currently the head of Ghana International School (GIS) in Accra. She holds a BSc from the University Of East London (UK), a B.Ed. from University of Toronto and a Ph.D in Biochemistry from SUNY Buffalo, NY. She has worked as Assistant Professor of Education at Redeemer University College, Ontario and is the creator and the host of the literary show Book 'Em TV on Rogers TV in Canada.

Dr. Mary Ashun, who also writes under the names 'Asabea Ashun' and 'Abena Apea', is the author of Tuesday’s Child, which was a quarterfinalist in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award. All her books are available on Amazon in North America and in Europe. In Ghana, she is published by Azalia Books/TYPE.

Her other books include Mistress of the Game, The Adventures of Kobby Badu-Smith, This African Child, Serwaa Akoto's Diary, and several non-fiction and professional articles. She also does writing for kids, teens and young adults.
