Pa Gya! A literary Festival in Accra

Writers Project of Ghana and the Goethe-Institute are organising a 3 day Literary Festival from Friday 20th - Sunday 22nd October, 2017. Pa Gya! A Literary Festival in Accra will be held on the premises of the Goethe Institute. Prominent among the events during the three-day festival will be a conversation and poetry readings with Ama Ata Aidoo and Kobena Eyi Acquah, the launch of the Abena Korantemaa Prize for Oral History, the launching of Chuma Nwokolo's new book, The Extinction of Menai. The festival will also feature panel discussions, three workshops including one on Literary Criticism, storytelling sessions and performances.

Throughout the festival, there will be bookstands set up by publishers and booksellers, as well as an interactive session with publishers for prospective writers and book sellers. There will be readings, discussions and a special feature for comics.

Special guest writers from Togo, Nigeria, Canada, South Africa and Ghana will give readings, lead workshop sessions, and participate in panel discussions during the festival.
