  • Submission Guidelines
    • Authors can only make one submission in one genre, at a time.
    • Work submitted to JWPG should not be under consideration for publication elsewhere.
    • Authors who wish to submit already published work must contact the journal before doing so.
    • Submissions should be as a Word document with a 150 word bio and contact details of the author (name, email address and phone number). Authors using pseudonyms must indicate this in their submissions.
    • Use font type Times New Roman, size 12, double spaced.
    • Submissions of interviews and non-fiction must also include an abstract of 200 words.
    • Submissions in indigenous Ghanaian languages must include translations of these works with the names and contacts of the translators.
    • Poetry: Submit a maximum of three poems. Each poem should not exceed 30 lines.
    • Prose and interviews should not exceed 3000 words.
    • Drama/screenplay/short play should be a maximum of 4000 words with 2-4 acts, and a maximum of 5 characters.

  • JWPG seeks to publish original work by emerging and established writers of Ghanaians home and abroad, writers from other African countries, and by other writers who write about or from Ghana. JWPG seeks to showcase the best of contemporary literature from Ghana and provide a space for critical conversations about the literary arts.
