Emma Ofosua Awarded 'Most Promising Writer' from Pa Gya! 2023 Workshops

For the second year running, the EU Delegation to Ghana has presented an award for the 'Most Promising Writer', which is an award given to a deserving workshop participant selected during Pa Gya! A Literary Festival in Accra. This year, four persons were short-listed and poet and author Emma Ofosua won the first position. The award was presented by the EU Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Irchad Razaaly on 13th December, 2023.

The award presentation took place at the offices of the EU Delegation to Ghana in Accra.

The winner of the 2022 award was Nii Lante Lamptey, author of The Treasure Hunt.

About the winner: Emma Ofosua is a freestyle poet and author of the poetry collection I wish you courage in the Night Season. She finds expression through writing and performing Spoken Word Poetry. She has gone on to work with various national and multinational brands. She is the Chairperson of the Poetry Association of Ghana and a volunteer Projects Coordinator for the Association. Emma Ofosua is also the Director of the All African Women Poetry Festival; a festival dedicated to telling Africa’s story through the woman’s perspective.
