Author of the Month: Nyani Nkrumah

Writers Project of Ghana and Goethe-Institut Ghana proudly announce the restart of our long-running monthly readings series, with the first edition for 2024 slated for Wednesday 24th April 2024. We are honoured to feature Nyani Nkrumah, author of the novel Wade in the Water.

The reading is open to the public and will take place at Goethe-Institut, Cantonments.

Nyani Nkrumah was born in Boston and grew up in Ghana, West Africa and later Zimbabwe. Her love of writing comes from her mother, a former English and literature teacher who entertained her kids by reciting poetry and Shakespeare soliloquies on the way to school. She graduated from Amherst College where she dual majored in Biology and Black Studies. She also has a Masters from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and a PhD from Cornell University. She is also a Fulbright Fellow. In her other life, she lives in the Washington DC area with her family and works in international development.

See you at Goethe-Institut for the reading and conversation with Nyani Nkrumah. Admittance is free and all are welcome to attend.

Date: Wednesday, 24th April 2024.
Time: 7:00 PM - 8.00 PM
