'Pa Gya! A Literary Festival in Accra (2024)': Open Call

About
Pa Gya! A Literary Festival in Accra is a three day multi-event literary arts festival with activities such as book readings and launches, talks, performances, prize awards, theatre performances, exhibitions, a book market and many more. Over the years, the festival has collaborated with writers, publishing houses, academics, artists, cultural institutions and many others within the literary and arts institutions. Our collaborators and guests have also come from several countries in Africa, Europe and the United Kingdom, Asia, the Caribbean, the United States and Canada.

Interested in Participating?
Pa Gya! invites submissions from organizations, groups or persons interested in participating in this year’s festival. In previous editions many events and guests hosted at the festival have been realized from a call for proposals. The festival welcomes ideas, concepts and projects within the literary and cultural scenes in Ghana and beyond.

We are especially open to proposals that explore collaborations and for events and authors at this year’s festival. They must focus on or have some relation to literary output such as writing, books, performance, etc., or activities such as workshops, book clubs, or related projects.

Proposals will be accepted on a rolling basis from Friday, 31st May 2024 to Friday July 19th 2024. Interested persons, organizations and groups who wish to present or stage an event may email pagyafestival@gmail.com with the subject PROPOSAL FOR PAGYA 2024. Proposals will be received until Friday, 19th July 2024. The festival is also open for collaborations and support and can be reached via the same email.

The call is also open to booksellers, publishers and literary organizations who may wish to take a stand to sell or showcase work during the festival.
