Ian Rowlands

Dr Ian Rowlands is an awad winning playwright and director who works across media in his native Wales (one of the four nations that constitute Britain). Whislt he predominantly directs television (both for the BBC and independent sector), over past querter of a century, he has written many threatre texts that have been staged byseveral companies and radio plays for BBC Wales, BBC Radio Cymru (the Welsh language national radio station) and Radio 4. His last but one theatre text, Water Wars is to premier and tour Wales this coming Spring and his ongoing project, Aurora Borealis (a collaboration between University Cape Town and University South Wales) is the realisation of his revolutionary anti-theatrical vision of perfomance, he terms Being - the subject of his PhD thesis. It is this project that brings him to Ghana.
